Funko POPs I still Want! TV's Growing Pains
What would Funko POPs based on the hit 80's TV sitcom Growing Pains look like? We designed the Seaver family to find out in this special "Funkos I still want" feature!
While there are countless Funko POP! figures available, some of our favorite properties have never received the big-headed plastic toy treatment. "Show Me That Smile Again…" This iconic theme song opened each episode of the '80s and early '90s sitcom "Growing Pains," introducing us to a lovable family that everyone wished they could join. The story centered on Jason Seaver, a patriarch who moved his psychiatric practice into the family home to watch the kids while his wife Maggie pursued her career as a reporter. The family included Kirk Cameron as the mischievous Mike, the intellectual Carol, and the adorable troublemaker Ben. Later, little Chrissy took over as the family's cuteness ambassador. In the final season, a young Leonardo DiCaprio joined the cast as Luke Brower, the Seavers' unofficial adopted son.
The show debuted in 1985 and ran for seven successful seasons, maintaining a devoted following that continues nearly 40 years later. Fans enjoyed two reunion movies, though sadly, with Alan Thicke's passing in 2016, no more are likely to be made.
But Funko, I still want POPs! For this special post, we've designed our own versions of the beloved Seaver TV family. Each figure captures either the essence of the character or a memorable moment from the series. We even included a chase version of Luke!
