Super Monsters collab with Slasher Design brings comic and pins
As Halloween Haunt 2024 continues, Cereal Creatures launches a collaboration between Osbourn Draw Comics and Slasher Design featuring a take on classic monsters called "Super Monsters."
Dracula. Frankenstein. Wolf Man. You've heard of these iconic monsters and likely think of their Universal Studios creations. However, in the 1960s and '70s, multiple companies crafted their own versions of these literary monsters, appearing as toys, Halloween decorations, collectibles, masks and even in comic books. While Universal continues to steward the licensed versions, these older interpretations have mostly faded into obscurity as their parent companies and creators have passed on.
Now, Slasher Design revives pins that are inspired by the "Super Monsters" originals, while our new comic "Cereal Creatures Super Monsters No. 1" brings Count Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, a sea creature, the Invisible Man and the Werewolf into the groovy 1970s. But don't expect a monster team-up — these spooks aren't necessarily on the same side!
The pin set, from Slasher Design's Willobee imprint, features four 1.25-inch vintage-style pins and a card back recreated to resemble the classic Azrak-Hamaway International (AHI) toy line.
The Super Monsters pin set and the digital edition of "Cereal Creatures Super Monsters No. 1" are available now from Slasher Design's Slasher Store. We've also added a special edition trade paperback of "The Mad Boy Monster Vol. 1" to the Slasher Store.
