When the current crop of Trek comics end this summer, three new mini-series will take their place: Star Trek: Red Shirts, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Voyager.
This summer will see the conclusion of IDW’s current Star Trek comics. As of this writing, it’s not clear if the Star Trek: Lower Decks series is continuing, but Star Trek and Star Trek: Defiant are ending following the Lore War spring/summer event. The new titles offer a broad buffet of Trek from 90's fan favorite Voyager to classic 60's fun and finally modern Trek with Captain Pike and the U.S.S. Enterprise crew.
The new series include:

Star Trek: Red Shirts is written by Christopher Cantwell and features ensigns and lieutenants from the U.S.S. Warren who are security officers and, according to the overused trope, goners due to their red-colored tunics. This one sounds fun, especially since it’s set in the classic Trek era.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is getting another mini-series called “The Seeds of Salvation.” The Enterprise crew under Pike as featured in the Paramount+ series explore the secrets of an ice-covered planet. I’m sure this will be fine if not a little boilerplate based on the descriptions so far. This one is written by Robbie Thompson with art by Travis Mercer.

The third series and the one I’m most excited for is Star Trek: Voyager Homecoming. For the 30th anniversary of the TV show’s debut, this story by Tilly and Susan Bridges with art by Angel Hernandez, takes place moments after the credits rolled on the Voyager finale “Endgame.” Before the intrepid crew gets to Earth, they have one final adventure. Considering everything that happened in “Endgame”, the premise sounds a little trite, but I love these characters and getting another story with them is more than welcome.
Red Shirts hits in July, Strange New Worlds and Voyager come a month later.
