Universal Monsters Toy Story: Crypt Club and Toony Terrors!

The arrival of NECA's Crypt Club 4-pack and Toony Terror collectible figures show it's a great time to be a Universal Monsters fan!

The Crypt Club 4-pack, which features Frankenstein, Dracula (and his coffin), the Wolf Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon was literally a big surprise. Modeled after the Burger King kid's meal toys from the 90's, these are full 7-inch figures in a massive collectors box that calls back to that classic 90's artwork. The side features painted art from that era seen in promotions, books and other merchandise. We pre-ordered ours from NECA's online store for $150, but it is presently sold out. A quick search found a few options available from online sellers at $150 or well beyond. While we didn't crack the plastic to play with the figures ourselves, they look pretty close to their BK predecessors. The only one from those days that we've picked us is Dracula and, as you can see from the photo, mirrors the Count in the 7-in variety, right down to the blood red coffin! These monsters are going on display, but certainly make our mouths water for a Whopper.

Not to be outdone with the Crypt Club, the Toony Terrors versions of the Universal Monsters have arrived! These animated-style figures include The Wolf Man, Mummy, Frankenstein monster and Bela Lugosi as Dracula. We picked pre-ordered ours from NECA for $60 (including a cute Dracula plush), but we've seen them in the wild from Target and other toy stores around $18 to $20 each.
